Dear Sugar, Last Saturday night I met this good-looking guy at one of the college bars downtown. We hit it off pretty well and he asked for my phone number so he could text me later. However, all I got was a friend request on Facebook.

You moved a few hours away from your hometown just over two years ago, and while things were shaky at first, you’ve really adjusted to your new life. You’ve made a ton of friends, you have a great job, and you love where you live. The only problem is that things with your parents have been kind of frustrating. Their questions are endless; you want to be able to talk to them, but instead of ever having a good conversation, you just feel completely irritated with them.Or . . .That: Never have time to talk to you, and usually forget to call you back? Dear Poll: How Often Do You Talk With Your Parents?

I don't know what it is about my family, but we are always in constant contact. Some say my brother and I still haven't cut the umbilical cord, but I actually like the closeness. I feel comforted that my dad calls me almost everyday at the same time and that my mom e-mails me almost to the point of annoyance. I have friends however, that like to keep a certain amount of distance from their parents. They've either moved far away, tried to keep the contact to a minimum, or both — I guess some families are just too intrusive. So what about you? How often are you in contact with your parents?
